Claude AI training courses in the UK: what to look for before you book

Claude training courses are appearing fast, and they vary enormously. Some are recorded video libraries, some are generic AI awareness talks, and a few are genuinely hands-on workshops built around your team. If you are comparing options for a UK business, these are the things that actually determine whether the training sticks.

1. Hands-on or watch-along?

The single biggest predictor of whether training changes anything. If participants are not on their own laptops doing the exercises, they are watching a demo. Ask any provider: will every attendee leave with prompts and setups saved in their own Claude account?

2. Generic or tailored content?

A fixed slide deck about 'AI in business' teaches nothing your team could not read online. Good Claude training starts with a conversation about what your team actually does, then builds exercises around your real (anonymised) documents, reports and workflows. If a provider cannot explain how they tailor the session, expect a generic one.

3. Group size and format

Small groups of three to ten work best - everyone gets attention and the session builds shared team habits. On-site training at your offices removes travel, keeps examples relevant, and makes it easy for people to ask about their actual work. A focused 3-hour workshop is usually more effective than a full day, because a whole team can attend without losing a working day.

4. Does it cover judgement, not just features?

Anyone can show features. Valuable training covers the judgement calls: what data is safe to share, where Claude genuinely helps, and where a human decision must stay a human decision. Ask providers how they handle data safety - if the answer is a shrug, walk away.

Questions to ask before booking

• Will exercises use our own material, or generic examples?
• Will we build anything reusable in the session, like a shared Project or saved prompts?
• Who delivers it, and do they train business teams regularly?
• What happens afterwards - do attendees keep materials and prompts?
